Service Request Panel Fields

The Service Request panel shows all of the general service request information. Some of the information in the data fields may populate by default according to the configuration set by the administrator.

  • Description: This field automatically populates with the problem code selected when the service request is created. You can change it by double-clicking and selecting a new problem code.
  • Request Id: This field automatically populates with the unique service request ID and cannot be changed.
  • Apply to All: Select this check box if two or more service requests are opened to add information to or edit multiple service requests at a time.
  • Category: This field automatically populates with the asset group associated to the problem code.
  • Priority: Select the order of importance for the work to be completed.
  • Status: Select the state, condition, or situation of the service request.
  • Initiated By /Date: This field automatically populates with the login ID of the person who created the service request and the date/time it is created. If the Allow Changes to Initiated Date/Time preference is enabled in Designer, you can change the date and time.
  • Investigation: Select if this service request has been investigated.
  • Investigation Date: The date and time the service request was investigated is automatically populated or cleared when the Investigation check box is selected or cleared. You can also use the calendar icon to change the date and/or time, if needed.
  • Emergency: Select if this service request is an emergency.
  • WONeeded?: Select if a work order is required.
  • Submit To/Date: Select the person to submit the service request to. The date/time field automatically populates with the current date and time when the Submit To field is populated or updated.
  • Dispatch To/Date: Select the person to dispatch the service request to. The date/time field automatically populates with the current date and time when the Dispatch To field is populated or updated.
  • Project Name/Project Tree: Select a project using either the Project Name drop-down list or the Project Tree hierarchy to associate this service request with a project.
  • Prj. Comp. Date: If not already populated, enter the date of the expected completion of the service request.

NOTE: The projected completion date calculates using the Duration and Duration Units defined on the service request template in Designer. See Add or Edit a Service Request Template in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information. If nothing is defined in Designer for Duration and Duration Units, the projected completion date field is blank.

  • Cancel?/Date: Select Cancel to cancel the service request. The date/time field automatically populates with the current date and time when the service request is canceled.
  • Cancel Reason: Enter the reason why the service request was canceled.
  • Canceled By: This field automatically populates with the login of the user who closed the service request.
  • Closed By/Date: This field automatically populates with the login of the user who closes the service request. The date/time field is automatically populated with the current date and time when the service request is closed.
  • Comments: This field automatically populates with any existing comments along with the login of the user who added the comment and a time/date stamp.
  • Add Comment: Enter any comments.
  • Sort: Sort the comments by the date entered. By default, comments are sorted in ascending order. This is defined in Designer under GeneralDefault Comment Sort Order. See Configure General Preferences in the Designer for 15.8 Guide more information.
  • Existing Comments: This field automatically populates with any existing comments, along with the user who added them and a date/time stamp.
  • Resolution: Select the final outcome of the service request. These are defined in Designer under PreferencesService Request. See Configure Service Request Preferences in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information.
  • Labor: This field automatically populates with the total cost of the labor if labor is added to the service request.
